Mondays big bodybuilding session may have rewarded you with an enviable pump and set you firmly on the path to filling out your t-shirts. But today its time to balance the books with a lung-busting leg session.

You neednt go it alone, thankfully. Call a friend and challenge them to this lower-body torching gauntlet.

Youre going to be working in a ladder format, performing one rep of each exercise, before passing the kettlebell to your opponent who will match you rep for rep. Once the 'bell is passed back, youll perform 2 reps of each movement, and pass it back for your nemesis to reciprocate. Continue in this fashion, adding an additional rep every round, until one you cant perform the prescribed reps without putting down the bell.

So whos going to crack first?

Theres no real tactics here, its just a case of keeping a poker face and pushing your partner (and yourself) to the limit, says Mens Health fitness editor Andrew Tracey. That being said, keep each rep as tight as the first. There may be a bit of friendly competition involved, but its also your gains on the line!

1) Goblet Squat x 1 (Add a rep each round)

Hold your dumbbell or kettlebell close to your chest (A). Sink your hips back and descend into a squat (B). Your elbows should come in between your knees at the bottom. Drive back up, tensing your glutes at the top. Repeat.

2) Kettlebell swing x 1 (Add a rep each round)

Holding the kettlebell between your legs, initiate the movement by hinging your hips back like youre trying to push a door open with your glutes. swinging the weight back (A), before driving your hips forward explosively to lift the kettlebell to shoulder height, bracing your core ( B). Let the momentum bring you straight back down into the next rep.
