Men’s Health Week – ABC Action News

We catch up with three-time Olympian Merrill Moses and sports nutritionist Becci Twombley. They aretalking about what Mens Health Week means, to discuss preventative health measures, and encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury. Plus, they can discuss the importance of weight management and eating right.

Mens Health Week is celebrated each year as the week leading up to and including Fathers Day (June 12-18 this year.) The purpose is to heighten awareness of preventative health measures, and encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.

Noted dietitian Becci Twombley is Director of Sports Nutrition at USC. Merrill Moses is a three-time Olympian and medal winner in water polo. Together, they can share tips and habits to stay fit and healthy to help viewers at home reduce the risk factors for health problems as they age. They will present ways to take charge of our health, nourish our bodies and, in the spirit of the nationwide initiative, eliminate some potential health problems.

Merrill Moses celebrated his tenth year as a member of the mens water polo national team in 2016. Rio was Moses third Olympic games, and he was one of the mainstays in goal for Team USA. He had 63 saves during the 2012 London Olympics and was the starting goalie in the 2008 Olympics, where the U.S. won a silver medal. Hes currently the mens water polo coach at Pepperdine.

Becci Twombley is the Director of Sports Nutrition at USC, leading a team that coaches nutrition to the 650 athletes that make up the Trojan Family. Shes also a sports nutrition consultant to the Los Angeles Angels baseball team.
